Miigwech!
2014-2015 School year
Boozhoo Gakina-wiiya, It is a new year and there are lots of exciting things to come. A few notes: One, our 2014-2015 JOM count is due by Sept. 15th, so anyone who is currently enrolled and has not yet submitted paperwork needs to do so as soon as possible.

Also, we are asking parents and students to update their paperwork every year. We have recently created an information database to keep better track of our "I" students and programming. In order to be more efficient, we are asking students and parents who want to participate in the Indian Education program to submit their paperwork by Sept. 12, 2014. However because our program is in such a state of transition, I have extended the date to Sept.22. (Unless you are an enrolled member and would like to be accounted for through JOM this year, then it needs to be in by Sept. 12.

Indian Education Programming start date is to be announced.

"The Returning to our First Medicines" conference is being held up at FDL Sept. 26-28th. The conference fee is $25.00, and lodging is available. There are also scholarships available for youth who are interested in attending. For information you can e-mail Suzanne Nash at suzannen@indigenouspeoplestf.org
or call 612-722-6248. I would like to take a group of kids. For anyone who is interested in attending, please contact me via e-mail: Amanda.Horton@Superior.k12.wi.us or call me: 715.394-8740 ext. 106. I would like to have a head count by no later than next Friday, Sept. 12th.

First Parent Committee Meeting will take place this coming Monday September 8, 2014 from 5:30PM-6:30PM at the Superior Public Library. Your support is greatly appreciated and all are welcome to attend.

Our Facebook page has been changed from the Superior School District Indian Education Page to the Superior Indian Education Page.
